What is the Villain Name Generator?
A villain name should feel genuinely sinister without tipping into parody. This tool produces dark, memorable options for a story's antagonist, tuned to be threatening rather than comic.
How to use it
Use it for fiction or a script, a tabletop villain, or a game boss. Heart the fits, copy a name, or download a set.
What makes a good villain name?
A villain name should feel genuinely sinister without becoming comic, so a cold adjective and a plain surname work better than anything theatrical.
Tips for better results
Add the villain's vice or weapon in the customiser, then write their first line of dialogue. If it reads as pantomime, dial it back.
Where these names come from
Every villain name on Smerble is built from its own word lists and patterns. The generator mixes them at random, and a no-repeat bag system means the same combination will not come up twice in a row. Everything runs in your browser as you click, so nothing is sent to us.
